JAPAN INTERNATIONAL EYE HOSPITAL ATTENDS TEDX BUV 2024
On November 16, 2024, the staff of Japan International Eye Hospital attended the TEDx BUV 2024 event, organized by students of British University Vietnam (BUV), to contribute to raising eye care awareness for nearly 400 participants.
TEDx BUV is part of the globally renowned TED Talk series, providing event attendees with the opportunity to meet and listen to inspiring stories from speakers from many different fields of activity. In 2024, TEDx BUV officially returned with the theme “Double-Take”, with the participation of People's Artist Lan Huong, Fashionista Quynh Anh Shyn, cybersecurity expert Hieu PC, content creator Nguyen Tung Duong, beatboxer Flow.D, animal specimen collector Bonnie.
As a Diamond Sponsor, Japan International Eye Hospital has accompanied the TEDx BUV 2024 event to raise awareness of vision protection for hundreds of young people, through creative activities such as solving puzzles, wearing glasses simulating eye diseases. At the same time, the hospital also gave away many attractive gifts to participants such as eye supplements, free eye examination packages, eye patches, etc.
The interactive activities of the Japan International Eye Hospital received positive responses from participants of the TEDx BUV 2024 event. Particularly impressed with the glasses simulating eye diseases (cataracts, glaucoma, retinal detachment, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy), a student at BUV shared: “I find this a very meaningful and practical activity. Not everyone has the opportunity to have regular eye examinations or meet with a doctor to be aware of vision problems. The glasses simulating common eye diseases have helped us recognize abnormal signs in the eyes, understand the impact of vision loss on daily life, thereby taking care of eye health more scientifically and carefully."
Participating in solving puzzles and receiving attractive gifts from the Japan International Eye Hospital, a player shared: "When attending the event, I was not only inspired by the speakers, but also updated with useful eye care knowledge from the hospital. For example, the importance of the tear layer, safe myopia surgery methods, simple but effective eye exercises. All of that seemingly dry information was conveyed through an interesting puzzle game, making me feel very excited."
Through the TEDx BUV 2024 event, staff at the Japan International Eye Hospital had the opportunity to share useful information about eye diseases, contributing to raising awareness among young people about vision problems, thereby moving towards scientific eye care and protection.
