SILK (Smooth Incision Lenticule Keratomileusis) is a refractive surgery method using the latest generation of Laser technology—a breakthrough in treating myopia and astigmatism without creating a corneal flap. This method uses an advanced Femtosecond Laser to carve out a lens-shaped biconvex lenticule inside the cornea based on proprietary technology from Johnson & Johnson, USA, and then extract that lenticule through a very small incision at the corneal periphery, helping restore optimal vision for the patient. The unique improvement in laser technology along with the biconvex lenticule design enables SILK to create seamless, smooth incisions with high precision, safety, and effectiveness, bringing a gentle, quick surgery and exceptional visual results.
SILK surgery is indicated for patients with myopia (with or without astigmatism) up to -12D, astigmatism up to -6D, with the total of myopia plus astigmatism ranging from -1.00D to -12.00D.
1.SILKY SMOOTH EXPERIENCE: With a high-density laser pattern and the smallest laser spot size, SILK creates seamless, ultra-smooth cuts, enabling a swift lenticule extraction process and delivering a gentle, comfortable surgical experience for patients.
2.SUPERIOR SPEED: The fastest laser speed available, requiring only 16 seconds per eye, with the entire procedure completed in approximately 10 minutes—saving time and ensuring a pleasant experience for patients.
3. MICRON-LEVEL PRECISION: The smallest laser spot size enables exceptionally smooth and precise cuts, ensuring sharp, stable vision in the long run. The ultra-small incision heals rapidly, allowing patients to regain optimal vision within just 24 hours.
4. HIGH-DEFINITION VISION: The biconvex lenticule design minimizes corneal folds and, when paired with ultra-smooth laser incisions, significantly reduces higher-order aberrations—delivering exceptional visual quality.
5. MINIMIZED DRY EYE RISK: By preserving corneal nerve fibers on the surface and periphery, SILK helps maintain a stable tear film, reducing dry eye symptoms and enhancing post-surgery comfort.
6.COMPREHENSIVE CORNEAL PROTECTION: The low-energy laser and short exposure time minimize corneal tissue damage, while the exclusive biconvex lenticule design preserves collagen fibers and corneal nerve structures, ensuring long-term biomechanical stability and corneal health.
