Here are the conditions that you should meet to have a Phaco surgery:

  • YOUR CATARACT IS RELATED TO AGE, OR CAUSED BY EYE DISEASE OR TRAUMA
  • HAVE EYE PRESSURE IS WITHIN THE ACCEPTABLE RANGE
  • HAVE NO INFLAMMATORY DISEASES SUCH AS CONJUNCTIVITIS, KERATITIS, INTRAOCULAR INFLAMMATION, UVEITIS, ETC.
  • HAVE GLYCEMIC INDEX BELOW 10 (FASTING) IN CASE OF DIABETES
  • HAVE NO RECORDED CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES OR BLOOD PRESSURE

4. How does the Phaco surgery work?
YOUR EYES WILL BE CLEANED WITH ANTISEPTIC SOLUTION AND APPLIED WITH NUMBING EYE DROPS BEFORE THE SURGERY. THE SURGERY DURATION IS AROUND 20 – 30 MINUTES ONLY.
CREATE A SMALL INCISION ON THE CORNEAL EDGE USING A SURGICAL EQUIMENT
TEAR THE MEMBRANE (COVER) IN FRONT OF THE LENS
FRAGMENTIZE THE CLOUDY LENS USING HIGH FREQUENCY ULTRASONIC WAVES
THE FRAGMENTS ARE THEN SUCTIONED OUT OF THE CAPSULE USING PHACO SYSTEM
NSERT THE ARTIFICIAL LENS INTO THE EYE THROUGH THE INCISION AND ATTACH IT TO INTENDED LOCATION
 
What should I do before Phaco Surgery ?
 
  1. EAT breakfast normally on the day of surgery (except for those with diabetes).
  2. DO NOT use alcohol or stimulants before the surgery.
  3. CONTINUE using your prescription drugs if any.
  4. DO NOT make up and use cosmetics, keep your eyes and face clean on the day of surgery.
  5. DO NOT wear tight pullovers or shirts made of fur. Do not wear items such as jewelry, watches or hairpins into the operating room.
  6. GET enough sleep and stay comfortable before the day of surgery
  7. DO NOT drive by yourself on the day of surgery
