Cataract detection

According to Mr. Hao, his cataracts appeared many years ago, due to age and alcohol consumption habits. In particular, in the past 2 years, the disease became more severe, making Mr. Hao's life difficult.

"I can't pour myself water to drink, I can no longer see the trees in the yard clearly, all the scenery before my eyes seems to be covered with a white mist. I used to think I could live with cataracts so I wouldn't have to rely on my children. However, because life was so inconvenient, I decided to go for examination and treatment." - Mr. Nguyen Van Hao, Phaco surgery patient shared.

Experience cataract treatment at Japan International Eye Hospital

Mr. Hao's experience of cataract treatment is summed up in three words: "Fast - Painless - Comfortable."

Mr. Hao was very impressed with the examination process when the medical staff enthusiastically welcomed, guided, and accompanied each step of the examination. Documents and procedures are simplified thanks to the smart appointment system. Patients also do not need to spend hours waiting in line. Accordingly, Mr. Hao shared that he is very confident in the medical examination results because he has undergone many intensive examination steps according to Japanese medical standards using a modern machinery system.

On the day of surgery, Mr. Hao was given a private resting place with a comfortable chair. The surgery process was "painless, quick, only took 5-6 minutes", making Mr. Hao extremely satisfied and almost not worried at all.

After surgery, Mr. Hao regained his vision beyond expectations, up to 10/10. After only 4-6 hours of rest after surgery, the patient can see everything clearly. All daily activities such as walking, eating, and exercising can be done easily and are no longer hindered by foggy vision caused by cataracts.

With the surgical results exceeding the initial prognosis, Mr. Hao will continue to perform cataract surgery in his right eye in the next 1-2 months as directed by Dr. Vu Anh Tuan.

“This is a completely different medical experience and worth the time and expense you spend. In just one morning, he completed the surgery and went home to rest with clear eyes. Thank you to the Japan International Eye Hospital and Dr Vu Anh Tuan - who performed the surgery for bringing light to his eyes and life! - Mr. Nguyen Van Hao, Phaco surgery patient shared.

Case summary from an expert perspective

According to Master, Doctor Pham Thu Trang at Japan International Eye Hospital, patient Nguyen Van Hao came for examination with a complicated eye condition: vision has not reached 1/10, cloudy lens, brown nucleus. Regarding the cataract disease in Mr. Hao's eyes, the longer it is left, the more cloudy the lens becomes. The sclerotic lens causes many difficulties for future treatment, increases the risk of complications and makes it difficult to ensure effectiveness during surgery.

Because the cataract condition had been progressing for many years, doctors at the hospital encouraged Mr. Hao to have surgery early for high treatment effectiveness and good prognosis after surgery. Based on the specific eye condition, the doctor advises the patient to perform the Phaco method, monofocal multiplication at a cost of 16,000,000 VND/eye.

Phaco surgery is performed by crushing the cloudy natural lens and sucking it out to replace it with a suitable artificial lens to restore vision, with many advantages such as using Ultrasound waves are painless, bleeding-free, quick surgery time, small incisions, limited risk of infection, same-day hospital discharge.

The patient was fortunate to regain 10/10 vision after surgery.
