EXPERIENCE OF USING ORTHO-K GLASSES TO TREAT MYOPIA IN CHILDREN
Ortho-K glasses are gradually becoming popular and attracting the attention of many parents thanks to the mechanism of temporarily eliminating refractive errors (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism) and slowing down the process of increasing myopia. At Japan International Eye Hospital, Ortho-K glasses products are carefully selected, imported genuine, the examination and glasses issuance process is carried out methodically to ensure safety and effective use. After 2 months of using Ortho-K glasses at Japan International Eye Hospital, child patient Tran Kieu My (12 years old, Hanoi) shared details from vision, eye feeling to the process of operating glasses.
Child patient Kieu My's experience using Ortho-K glasses
Hello. Can you introduce yourself a little?
Hello everyone. My name is Tran Kieu My, I am 12 years old and I currently live in Hanoi.
How has Kieu My's vision changed after 2 months of using Ortho-K glasses?
The first few days, my vision was not very clear. But just a few days later, I could see everything 100% sharp. After wearing Ortho-K, my eyesight has improved to 9 - 10/10. Normally when I go to school, I won't be able to see the board, but now, even sitting near the back of the class, I can still clearly see the words on the board that the teacher is teaching.
Some people think that using Ortho-K glasses is very difficult. For Kieu My, did she have any difficulty in wearing and removing Ortho-K glasses?
For me, no. At first, I was a bit confused, but after only a few days, I got used to using the glasses, because the operation was simple and easy. Before that, I was also given detailed instructions by the doctors at the hospital, so wearing and removing the glasses was not too difficult for me. The total time to use the glasses only took about 5-7 minutes.
Do Ortho-K glasses make Kieu My feel sore eyes or have trouble sleeping?
No, when I sleep, I feel very comfortable. When I wake up in the morning, the glasses do not hurt my eyes. Mom bought me Breath-O Correct glasses from SEED (Japan), so they have high oxygen permeability, and the design is also suitable for my eyes, limiting the feeling of dryness and irritation when using them.
So between glasses and Ortho-K glasses, which type of glasses will Kieu My choose?
I will definitely choose Ortho-K glasses! In some cases, when wearing glasses, I will feel a little bit uncomfortable, such as playing sports, participating in outdoor activities, etc. I find wearing Ortho-K glasses much more convenient and comfortable. In my class, there are many friends who are using Ortho-K and they all like it and find it very convenient!
Thank you Kieu My for sharing about your journey of using Ortho-K glasses. Japan International Eye Hospital wishes you will have fun and interesting experiences playing and studying with free and bright eyes!
